What currency shall I take with me?

Although Romania is in the EU, it has not yet joined the Euro. The official currency is RON, Romanian Lei with the exchange rate approximately 5 to £1.00.

What sort of holiday can I have?

Romania has something for everyone, cultural touring of the various regions, active holidays, hiking and horse riding or just relaxing in one place for a few days.

How long should I plan to stay?

Subject to which areas of the country you wish to see, we recommend a minimum of a week.

What is the best way to get around?

We recommend hiring an English-speaking driver-guide. This way you can relax and let someone else take the strain of driving. Your driver-guide can help you see beneath the surface of each place and save you time by knowing the exact routes.

Alternatively we can arrange car hire. The roads are good. Subject to your itinerary some internal flights may be required. The train infrastructure is not recommended.
