An Exeter International holiday to Russia brings history to life

Exeter International are passionate about arranging family holidays. Although Russia and Eastern Europe may not be traditionally relaxing holidays in warm far flung places, we are seeing an increasing number of families with young adults studying Russian history booking week long holidays to Russia specifically to help learn and bring history to life and help understand the largest country in the world.

Red Square

We suggest a framework of three nights in Moscow (starting on a Friday – when hotels are better value and traffic is calm) and four nights in St Petersburg, travelling between the two by high speed train. The content and where to stay are then up to you. We will discuss your itinerary with you and the result will be something unique to you and your family.

We are proud to be recommended as a preferred tour operator by 101 Family Holidays.

Awe Inspiring

Everything about Russia is epic. The vastness of the Hermitage, the size of the Diamonds in the Kremlin Diamond Fund, the metro in Moscow, what more of an incentive to fall in love with history could you need?

Fun

It doesn’t have to be all about history. Learning about cultural differences and customs is key – try a Russian banya, spend a day at the dacha, ice skate in St Petersburg in palace square, or learn to cook Russian style. If you want to show off your artistic flair we can arrange a matryoshka master class – learn how to paint Russian dolls and take the results home!
