In 1998 Valery Gergiev decided to establish the Academy in the Mariinsky Theatre, St Petersburg. The Academy of young singers aims to select the most talented and promising vocalists throughout Russia and the CIS and provide them with the necessary training to become international caliber opera singers. Students from the Academy also take both major and minor roles in performance by the Mariinsky Opera in St Petersburg and abroad. There are about twenty admissions a year to the Academy, study is for two years or longer.
Today you have the unique opportunity to experience an exclusive private concert in the atmospheric Rimsky-Korsakov museum apartment with a selection of the singers.
